Popcorn Trio

Buttered popcorn three ways—with pizza seasoning, taco seasoning, and everything-bagel seasoning, three of my favorite foods will satisfy every taste and keep you and your guests happy from the opening scene to the movie’s end.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil or canola oil
  • 1/2 cup (35 g) red heirloom popcorn kernels, or your favorite yellow popping corn
  • 3 tablespoons ghee or butter
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Pizza Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Taco Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • Garlic salt or fine sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a stovetop popcorn popper, or a large heavy saucepan with a lid heat the oil over medium heat with 2 popcorn kernels, shaking the pan occasionally, until the kernels pop, then add the rest of the popcorn. Cover the popper and cook, shaking it several times until the popping subsides; remove from the heat. (Or pop your popcorn in an electric popper following the manufacturers’ directions.) Carefully remove the cover.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the ghee. Divide the popcorn evenly among 3 serving bowls. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the melted ghee over the popcorn in each bowl. Sprinkle the Parmesan and pizza seasoning over the first bowl, the taco seasoning over the second, and the bagel seasoning over the third bowl. Season with garlic or sea salt to taste, if desired. Toss with your hands to distribute the seasoning. Serve hot!
